Here is my journey. I am a very large woman. During 3 decades, I dieted my way up to a very large size. I learned on various diets that they all sucked, big time. Either the food tasted bad, you had to take a daily trip to a diet center for shots, you didn't get to eat any real food at all, or there just wasn't anything that satisfied raw hunger.
I was introduced to the Cinch Plan last August when I went to a convention and I liked the science behind this program. I liked the concept of Cinch and I REALLY liked the kit when it showed up at my doorstep. Most big people have gratification issues. The Cinch Starter kit, I believe, is designed with this in mind. Most large, and not so large, people have paid BIG money to diet and try to lose weight. But, because of our gratification issues, we want to believe we are getting our money’s worth. That kit covers that psychological issue.
When I opened it up, I fell in love with the packaging, instantly. I liked the way the products are laid out nicely in their little beds inside the kit. I like the fact that the pedometer and MEASURING TAPE, are discretely tucked away under that part in the back of the kit. I like the fact that the measuring tape is a REAL TAPE, similar to a quality tape you can buy at the sewing notions store. Those paper tapes that many diet plans have are not robust enough to survive my kind of measurements!! (not to mention, they aren’t long enough hehe). Even though the Cinch shaker cup has its own issues (they are not leak proof if put in a bag already mixed), it looks pretty, too. However, I do use my Tupperware shaker cups, those are leakproof. I have several from all my other diets over the years. They are getting a workout now.
So, instantly, I loved the kit. I felt I got my money’s worth. The coaching CD was cool, too. The kit included 2 paper food diaries that look easy to use to log foods and then to put into the Cinch coaching program when time permits during the day. I put my CD in the computer and was eager to start. OOOPS, guess what? The setup screen, first question, is what is your current weight? YIKES, I didn’t have a home scale that worked for me. It took me a while to find one affordable. I did find a vendor that sells scales for really big people under $100. I think mine was around $75 including shipping. I found this scale after intensive Google searching over a few days. My objective was to find one that wouldn't hog the bathroom space and actually accurately weigh me. http://www.oldwillknottscales.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=11 They have many choices there. I actually ordered a different one with more capacity and was surprised that I didn't need one that high!!
So, I finally got my scale in November, but what sane person starts a weight reduction program just before the Holidays? NOT ME!!!! OK, Holidays came and went, and on December 26th, my Cinch journey began.
First week, all I can say, stay close to a bathroom. I think my Cinch products found every ounce of liquid I ever consumed in my entire life!!!!!!!!!! Whew, got those days out of the way. Tuesday, I put the CD in and got my profile filled out. I took my measurements using a measuring tape that I bought that goes up much higher than the standard ones. The computer told me to go on the 2400 calorie plan and told me I would be down to my goal weight in January, and not January 2008!!!!!!! However, that was based on a sane, level, gradual inch loss program. That was fine. It took 30 years to get here, so 3 years to get it off works for me, too.
Part of my strategy, based on Dr. Jamie McManus at Shaklee on a conference call, is to continue using the regular Shaklee Energizing Soy Protein because my diabetic body loves this stuff. The Soy protein is a very good food for Diabetics. Also, it helps me with the Calorie consumption. So my 2 shakes a day consist of 12 ounces of skim milk and one serving of Cinch Shake and one serving of Energizing Soy Protein. I had leftovers from Christmas for my first 3 days’ worth of meals. That was the easy part.
Now, I went to use the CD and had to ask for help on how to add a food not on the list so the computer can track my 30% protein, 40% carb, and 30% fat ratio. I made a mental note at that time to use the tutorial on the disk. Apparently it covers everything thoroughly. I had loaded the CD a while back and skipped the tutorial. The tutorial is on the disk itself, so I will dust it off and go through it later tonite.
What I liked about what the Cinch Coach does, is that it tracks the calories, tracks the intake ratios and makes suggestions for meal plans for each day. It also helps me to determine how to finish out my day with snack choices to maintain the ratio. No other program I ever used before gave me a self management tool this useful. I like the Cinch Tea, which is comprised of white, green and red teas. The 3 in 1 nutrition tablet helps with the hunger because it helps keep the blood sugar levels steadier, without peaks and valleys. The Cinch bars, and my plan calls for 2 a day, also stave off hunger, so I had a great first week. I can't decide which I like better, the lemon cranberry bar, the decadent chocolate bar, or the peanut butter bar. Yeehaw!!
After 7 days on Cinch, I have lost 6 pounds and that doesn’t even include what the scale will show tomorrow, when my first week actually finishes. I was only hungry a little bit, during 2 days, and those days were my fault. I was too lazy to cook and only ate cottage cheese and pineapple for one of those meals. My lessoned learned: eat the menu plan and the full calorie intake and you won’t be hungry!! Wow, what a concept
How do I feel about Cinch today? I survived, very well I might add, my first week on a new program. This is the first time in 20 years I am moving to week 2 on any reduction program!! I thank Shaklee for developing a plan that works. I look forward to finding out first hand how Cinch will burn the fat and preserve the muscle. Their clinical trials proved that
If I can do this plan, so can you, so please talk to the person who referred you to this site and find out how you can start, too.
